If you thought that red velvet cupcakes were seductive in their own rich, mochalicious ways, Australian native Adam Richardson has taken red wine to a whole new level when he created “Red Velvet” wine, which is just like as it’s description with the aromas of red fruits, a black berry cupcake, and a hint of chocolate and coconut. Red velvet will never be thought of in the same way again. Red Velvet is smooth perhaps because it’s a blend of various red wines of Zinfandel, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Petit Sirah. It’s not too sweet and I can imagine that it would go well with steak and or meatballs. Tonight, I’m having them with sundried tomato and basil bruschetta, which go great with any red wine.
I especially like this Red Velvet wine because it smells like a rich bouquet of dessert though it is not incredibly sweet. I do agree with the winemaker that this wine is creamy and a great wine in it’s own right. You can find this wine from $9-13 dollars. I have to say, not bad for a wine under $15.
